Base Currency

Overview

The base currency setting tells AHQ Financials which currency your company uses for its accounts. Once set, all financial figures on the dashboard — burn rate, revenue, cash runway, CAC, LTV, pipeline values — are displayed in your currency with the correct symbol or code.

This is a display setting. It does not convert any numbers; it simply ensures the right currency label appears next to every amount.

Setting Your Base Currency

  1. Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of any page
  2. Select Base Currency from the menu
    • The current currency is shown next to the menu item (e.g. or DKK)
  3. Choose your currency from the dropdown
  4. Click Save

The change takes effect immediately across all pages — no reload required.

Supported Currencies

AHQ Financials supports the following European currencies:

Currencies with an unambiguous dedicated symbol (€, £, ₺, zł, etc.) show the symbol. Currencies that share a symbol with other countries — for example kr is used by Denmark, Sweden, Norway, and Iceland — display the ISO code instead to avoid confusion.

Who Can Change the Currency

Only company founders and admins can change the base currency. Team members and investor-role users see the currency as set by the founder but cannot modify it.

Important Notes

This is a display setting only. Changing the currency does not convert any of your financial data. Your uploaded P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow figures remain exactly as entered. The currency label is applied on top of the existing numbers.

This works correctly because the accounting software you export from (e.g. Netvisor, Xero, QuickBooks) already produces reports in your functional currency — the CSV you upload to AHQ Financials is already denominated in your base currency.

If you operate in multiple currencies, your accounting tool is responsible for converting foreign currency transactions to your base currency before the export. AHQ Financials works with the aggregated figures in your base currency.

Default currency is Euro. If you have not yet set a base currency, all figures are shown in EUR. Set your currency before inviting the team or generating reports so the correct label appears everywhere from the start.
