Open Banking

What is Open Banking?

Open Banking lets you securely connect your real bank accounts to AHQFinancials. Once connected, the platform automatically pulls your live account balances and recent transactions, giving you an up-to-date financial view without any manual data entry.

Your bank credentials are never shared with AHQFinancials — you authenticate directly with your bank using your existing online banking login.


Who Can Connect a Bank Account?

Connecting a bank account is available to users with the Admin, Startup Founder, or Startup roles.


How to Connect a Bank Account

  1. Click your profile avatar in the top-right corner of the app.
  2. Select Add Bank Account from the menu.
  3. Choose your country from the dropdown.
  4. Select your bank from the list.
  5. Click Connect — you will be redirected to your bank's secure login page.
  6. Log in at your bank and approve the data access request.
  7. You will be automatically redirected back to AHQFinancials.

The connection is now active. You can connect multiple banks if needed — just repeat the process.


The Live Banks Page

Once at least one bank account is connected, Live Banks appears in the left navigation under the Dashboards section.

This page shows:

Summary Strip

Three key figures across the top:

Avg Monthly BurnAverage net cash outflow per month based on the last 90 days
Cash RunwayHow many months of cash remain at the current burn rate (shown in red when under 3 months)

Charts

  • Monthly Cash Flow — a bar chart showing total money in (green) and total money out (red) per month for the last 90 days.
  • Balance Progression — a line chart showing how each account's balance changed over time, plus a combined total.

Account Cards

One card per connected account, showing:

  • Bank name and country
  • Account holder name and currency
  • Current balance
  • Last 5 transactions with amounts (green for money in, red for money out) and descriptions

How Long Does a Connection Last?

Bank connections are valid for 90 days. After that, the connection expires and you will need to reconnect.

When a connection expires:

  • The account card shows an Expired warning.
  • A Reconnect button appears on the card.
  • Click Reconnect to go through the authorization flow again for that bank.

Data Privacy

  • AHQFinancials only requests read-only access to your accounts — no payments or transfers can be made.
  • Bank data (balances and transactions) is fetched live from the bank each time you visit the Live Banks page and is not stored permanently in the platform.
  • Your bank login credentials are entered directly on your bank's website and are never seen by AHQFinancials.

Supported Countries and Banks

The following countries are currently supported:

  • Finland (FI)
  • Sweden (SE)
  • Norway (NO)
  • Denmark (DK)
  • Germany (DE)
  • United Kingdom (GB)

The list of available banks is loaded dynamically based on the country you select. If your bank is not listed, it may not yet be supported by the Enable Banking network.


Troubleshooting

No banks appear in the list after selecting a country The bank list is loaded from the Enable Banking API. Check your internet connection and try again.

I was redirected back but my bank account did not appear The connection may have already been registered (this can happen if the browser page loaded twice). Try navigating to the Live Banks page — your account may already be connected.

Balances or transactions are not loading The Live Banks page fetches data live from your bank. If the bank's API is temporarily unavailable, the card will show an error message. Try refreshing the page.

The connection shows as Expired Click the Reconnect button on the account card and complete the bank authorization again.
