Morning Brief
What is the Morning Brief?
The Morning Brief is a private mobile page that shows your company's key financial metrics in real time — cash across all bank accounts, recent transactions, runway, and MRR — without requiring you to log in. It is designed to be saved to your phone's home screen and opened like an app every morning.
Who can use it?
The Morning Brief is available to users with the Startup Founder or Startup role. It is not visible to investors, accelerator managers, or team members with other roles.
Setting up your Morning Brief link
- Log in to AHQ Financials on any device
- Click your profile icon in the top-right corner
- Select Morning Brief from the menu
- Click Generate link — your personal brief URL is created instantly
- Click the copy icon to copy the link
Your link looks like this:
https://financials.ahqportal.com/brief/cc3ccf236601bbd3...This link is yours only — it shows your company's data and should be kept private, like a password.
Adding it to your phone's home screen
iPhone (Safari)
- Open the link in Safari (not Chrome or other browsers)
- Tap the Share button at the bottom of the screen
- Tap Add to Home Screen
- Tap Add
- Open the AHQ Financials icon from your home screen — it opens full screen with no browser bar
Android (Chrome)

What you see on the page
| Section | Data | Updates |
|---|---|---|
| Cash | Balance per bank account, total per currency | Live — fetched from your bank every time you open the page |
| Transactions | Last 5 transactions per account (tap to expand) | Live — fetched from your bank every time you open the page |
| Runway | Estimated days of cash remaining | Live cash ÷ stored monthly burn rate from your KPI record |
| MRR | Monthly recurring revenue + change vs last month | Live — synced from Stripe |
| Clock | Current time and date | Updates every second |
The page loads the balances, runway, and MRR first (typically 1–2 seconds). The transactions card loads separately and may take a few more seconds — you will see "Loading transactions…" while it fetches.
Light and dark mode
At the bottom of the page there is a small toggle button. Tap it to switch between dark mode (default) and light mode. Your preference is saved on the device and remembered next time you open the page.
Managing your link
Open the Morning Brief dialog from your profile menu at any time to:
- Copy the link again
- Regenerate — creates a new link and immediately invalidates the old one. Anyone who had the old link will see a 404 error. Use this if you think the link was shared with someone it shouldn't have been.
- Revoke — deletes the link entirely. The page will show an error until you generate a new one.
The dialog also shows the last time and IP address from which the brief was accessed, so you can tell if someone else has opened it.
Is the link secure?
Yes. The link cannot be guessed — it contains a long random code with more combinations than there are atoms in the observable universe. It grants read-only access to your metrics and nothing else — no one can make changes, access other parts of the app, or see any other company's data through it.
Treat it like a shared password: don't forward it, don't screenshot it where others can see, and revoke it immediately if you think it was compromised.
Troubleshooting
The page shows 404 Your link has been revoked or regenerated. Go to the Morning Brief dialog in your profile menu and generate a new one.
Bank balances are not showing Your Open Banking connection may have expired. Go to Bank Accounts in the app to reconnect.
Transactions show "No recent transactions" This can happen if your bank's API is slow or temporarily unavailable. Try refreshing the page.
The page still shows a browser bar after adding to home screen Make sure you added it using Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android. Other browsers (Firefox, Brave, Vivaldi) do not support the full-screen home screen mode.
The installed app opens the login page Uninstall the shortcut, reopen the brief link in Chrome, wait for it to fully load, then reinstall from the menu.
